A Season, A Reason, A Lifetime

I have used this phrase over and over through the last 20 years. You would think that I would understand it better, but it still comes as a surprise to me when I’m taught different lessons from it over and over again.

The last lesson is, yes it may be for a reason, and it may be for a season but, is it really for a lifetime? I was planning on traveling in a van across the U.S. you know this. Then I was moving to Maui Hawaii right. I sold almost everything I owned, and I flew over to the islands, one way ticket. Hip Hip Hooray!!!!!

It was an eye opener to say the least. I went over with the knowledge that I had, but actually being there and trying to create a life there is a different story. We would all like to think of the romantic happy ending kind of story and well this is but with a big twist. Are you ready? I didn’t stay. And you’re all saying whaaaaaaaaaa? Yep, I didn’t stay. It was just too expensive, and I didn’t have enough money to complete what I needed to do. But the silver lining is that I will be back in a year and it’s actually a good thing. I felt pretty down coming back, like I had failed. But I know that there is a reason for everything, and this trip there was just a small, short season to prepare me for my lifetime. I will go back next September, and all is good. I had to take care of some health issues first and save some money to pay cash, cause that’s how I like to do things, with cash not credit, and get on with getting on. So, my trip to Maui AND THE BIG ISLAND TOO was absolutely amazing, beautiful, mesmerizing, and super informative. I learned so much and met some really great people, i.e., Pam, Patrick, Brian and Chris my instructor trainer. I’ll talk about my adventures next time but just wanted to catch you up on where I am. Until later hang loose 🙂
