Why Are We

I know I’m not the best at keeping up with this blog. I am trying to get better. One thing I am always asking myself is why? Why to almost everything, and why do I ask? Because I’m curious, interested and aware enough to ask. I ask constantly about things with myself and things around me. Why do we – do and don’t do the things that we do. Why is the universe the way it is? Where did we come from, what is our purpose? Those are the big questions and I believe if one isn’t asking and pondering these questions then they are just living out a walking dead life. Why do I say that? You tell me…..

Does a person even care about what’s beyond their own nose? Truly. I catch myself being so selfish and ego minded that it makes me sick, and I call myself aware. So, what about those others that don’t have much awareness at all. Those that just live and then die and have no real purpose? Who am I to say what and who has purpose? I’m not a mind reader. But I am an “action” reader, I am an observer and what I see is not alive for the most part. But you will only “see” if your eyes are looking up and out and not down and your soul is open to a world bigger than self. So again, I ask, why do we? Because of God, money, power, hate, love, family, children, ego, self-esteem, cultural and religious, the list goes on and on and on. But are people generally aware of themselves and why they do what they do?

Why is a million questions and few answers. Why does our government hide so many things from its people who are supposed to be the government. Why do people take a blind eye to poverty, homelessness, cruelty. We allow the masses to lead but it doesn’t really lead anywhere except to be more isolated and taken down a path that holds us in bondage other than releasing us and setting us free. Why is there disease, why is there so many religions, why do we kill the planet, why do we not really know our neighbors but judge them anyways. Why, why, why, why, why? I could go on ten thousand words and I’m not sure if it would sink it if one were asking the simple why to their very life and existence around them. Why are you – you? Why are you here? Are you on a journey of experience, wisdom, freedom, or on a journey of just getting by day by day. Are you seeing the beauty in daily life or the drudgery. Are you on a path of self-discovery and asking why do we or just accepting the living dead as truth. We may not have the answers, but we sure should be eager to ask at least. Come on let’s ask together and see where it takes us.
