It often occurs to me how much thinking and thinking and overthinking that I do. My brain seems consumed with the daily grind of living and believe me, it is so taxing. It feels like I am always stressed, that’s there’s always something to fix or take care of. I have forgotten how to just play and be free. What happens when we change from a child’s thinking to an adult? Where do we lose ourselves? In the movie Hook with Robin Williams Peter has grown up and become “a man” and has forgotten who he was as a child. He forgot how to play, how to see as a child see’s and he forgot how to fly. I believe almost all of us do this at some point and then we go through life struggling and not playing anymore. Well, I want to play.
To think as a child gives us wonder and amazement. To think as a child gives us a complete freedom. To think as a child the chains of drudgery of adult living fade away like the sun dissipating a fog. We laugh, we smile, we look forward to the day of great adventure. To think as a child we hold no prejudices, we see all colors, we aren’t concerned with how much money we make but only want to explore to find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
To think as a child lifts my soul up to the clouds to frolic with all the magnificent puff creatures floating effortless in the sky. We aren’t concerned with paying the bills but are consumed with finding the next big treasure under a rock, in the bushes, up a tree. What a simple free life to live. Well, my friends the choice is yours even if we all did grow up. We can choose how to live, how to think, how to be. I believe the world would be a better happier place if we could only think as a child. Come along on the journey, 2nd star to the right.
