Blurred Vision

When you wake up in the morning and rub your eyes it’s because you have blurred vision. That’s an easy one. But how many times throughout the day do you rub your eyes because you have this blurred vision? Do you even know your vision is blurred or do you just think this is the way life looks, or this is just the way life is? It’s not. But three things happen with this. One, you just ignore your eyes and go on living with your daily walking dead vision. Your eyes glaze over, and you really don’t see life around you. Two, you rub and rub your eyes and know something isn’t right, but you just keep on doing the same thing hoping it will look different tomorrow. And three, you figure out what the problem is and take care of it, so your eyes are no longer blurry. Where do you fit in?

What’s sad to me is that most people will never even get passed waking up and just living with blurred vision. I see it every day, all around me. I’m not talking about just physical vision; I’m talking about being able to see beyond. It’s not rocket science and it’s not magic; it’s just being aware. There are so many things in this world that we do from fear, from procrastination, from taught behaviors to moral and religious beliefs. The list goes on and on. We get married for money; we have kids when we are just kids ourselves. We stay working at a JOB (just over broke) because we think this is all we have; this is what we are supposed to do. Very few 80-year-olds go back to college. But on occasion it does happen. Can you tell me why?

Tell me why it touches your soul when you see someone who is living in their passion, that you know absolutely they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. You can see it, you can feel it, you know it, there is no doubt. So, tell me why don’t more of us live this way? Why do so many people go through life with blurred vision? I just want to scream. I want to take them and shake them awake and yell stooooooop! You’re wasting your time and your life away. But yet so many people just continue on and grow old never knowing their true potential or calling. Some may search for that make believe pot of gold, but they never understand that the gold is themselves. Don’t get me wrong that’s why I’m writing this. I fall into this myself. Life is hard, very, very hard.

So, what’s the answer? I don’t know exactly what it is. If I did, I would be a millionaire, I think. What I do know is that one must dig deep into their own soul and come to terms with themselves. Not to be phony, not to live blinded, no to live dead. For no matter how hard the struggle is, there is such freedom and peace to be found when we can rub our eyes and get the blurred vision to clear up. Yes, it’s a hard walk but I’m telling you it’s worth your very life. When the blurred vision is gone then life becomes the vibrant and alive process that it truly was and is meant to be. Don’t be afraid to take the first step. The journey is good, see ya out there.
