Blind Obedience

Boy oh boy where do I start with this one? l don’t know how to share this so that people will be able to understand and possibly make a change. But I’ll give it my best shot. I am wise enough to know that we grow up the way society is around us. If you grow up in LA or New York, you will come to think differently. If you grow up in Greece or Iraq, you will come to think differently. If you grow up being Muslim or Christian, you will come to think differently. If you grow up thinking outside the box or only living in the box, you will come to think differently. We live out the many avenues of life in blind obedience to our own demise. As children we never have to deal with this as life is just simple and pure. We don’t judge people from their skin color, what their religion is, if they are male or female. It isn’t till we start getting older and getting brain washed in whatever society we live in that we lose our freedom and become obedient.

Can you see it? Have you experienced it? It’s everywhere. It’s in nature and it’s definitely been a huge part of our human nature. But the problem is that even though we may know it exists, we do nothing about it but continue to be blinded by it. And henceforth there are so many problems in the world today. We as a species have become Lords of this planet all in our own little societies. The middle East has been living this for centuries. Rome, Germany the list goes on and on. Even the United States in all its freedoms is still obedient to the notion of blind obedience. We believe what we believe due to the life around us. I think therefore I am has become an unaware way of thinking instead of the inspiration of being a free thinker and having the freedom to know the difference. We live according to what we live around, what we are shown and taught to a great degree. That’s why we have wars and violence. Because people think if you’re not like me than you are not on my level. Stinking thinking. But it’s everywhere.

How dare you be different. As if that has some moral or ethical foundation to exercise any power over me. But you see it’s not about being different, it’s about being wise. We have the choice to be any way we want but we also have the choice to not. We don’t have to be some way just because that’s the way it is. We don’t have to be religious because our parents and their parents are and were. We don’t have to be racist because my neighbor is. We don’t have to be stupid blind followers just because something in the media says so. When I think about all the avenues of blind obedience, it’s like opening pandoras box, it just doesn’t stop. We walk through life believing in so many things that in the big scheme of things it really just doesn’t make rational sense. I can’t date you because you’re not over 6 feet. What?? But it happens. Why? I can’t play with you because your black, that’s what my parents told me. What? Why? I can’t like you because your Russian. What does that have to do with anything? There is only one God and that’s the way it is. Really? Try telling that to a Hindu.

And my point being is that every single one of us do this do this every day. Some more than others but in all our great big brains wisdom, we are stupid. We are obedient to blindly follow the whatever was and whatever the wind blows because we don’t allow ourselves to actually become wise and truly free thinkers. We just follow to a great degree, and it hasn’t served us well. When we were children, we asked so many questions. Why is the sky blue, what makes it snow? We wanted to try new things and weren’t afraid of skinned knees. We didn’t look at people any differently than other than just being people. Another person to share this adventure with. What happened? What changed? Where did we lose our way? And if you don’t think we have then I’m telling you my friend you are right there walking in blind obedience. Maybe just maybe it’s time to take the blinders off that limits the grand vision of seeing and knowing what life it really about. There is so much more to experience and there’s nothing to be afraid of. You only have one life. I’m just pleading that you live it with open eyes instead of blind ones. See ya on the journey.
