Which Way Is Up

In today’s day and age, it seems people are having a hard time finding which way is up. I think they are having a hard time finding any which way actually. We get so lost in growing up living like the Jones that we forget who we really are or really could be. As I’ve said before we tend to grow and act out due to our environment. If we live in LA or New York, we most likely will have attitudes and personality resembling both of those areas. If you grow up in Europe or the Middle East, it would be the same. Why is that? What causes us to just follow like sheep and do and be like everyone else?

I see so much of the population, especially in America, since it is a huge melting pot of people, that just can’t seem to find their true paths. So many are lost in the grind of daily living, of having a relationship, with buying a car, getting a pet, buying a house. It’s the American way for many. While there are others who are struggling to even have a place to lay their head. Whether we’re rich or poor, many of us don’t even know what we’re doing or why we’re doing it. Oh, there are a multitude of reasons but none that shows me people are living in harmony with themselves and the nature around them. We comply to a great deal. We can blame money, we can blame circumstance, we can say it’s government, we can say it’s religion, we can say it’s just the way it is. But all in all, life is a choice. It may seem some have a hand up, but that number is actually really low. Most of the people on this earth are just going through the motions and live and die over thousands of years. Which way is up? Are you going left or right, and do you even know why?

With multimedia it’s getting worse. Take for just one example diets. It’s a billion-dollar industry because todays people think they need to look fit and to fit in. But back in the Middle Ages being plump was a sign of prosperity and status. During the depression as well. When people could afford food or good food while others, we’re becoming skinny and gaunt, those who had money and had more weight on them were considered prosperous. Now in today’s age if you are overweight you are considered unhealthy and to some extent even less of a person. You might even be labeled poor and uneducated. All because of image. And we know what direction we’re going.? Spending billions of dollars and all on bogus information, really because the human body knows what it needs. But we jump when society says jump and we lay down when they say lay down. I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know, just what you don’t want to hear and believe. It’s easier to follow the masses.

So which way is up for you, which way is down, which way is the left and which way may be the right way? So many people are lost and going in circles. I have hope that as individuals we may take a stand in our own skin and not go in circles but find a new path. A path of wisdom, of enlightenment, of true love and harmony and then share that with the world. What a beautiful notion other than just being lost. There is a trail ahead of you and what path you take is up to you if you choose to take a step.
