From There To This

I’ve been fascinated with history and the timeline of life as I’ve gotten older and these things make me ponder, do people really think or do we just go through life not thinking at all? In case you don’t know, dinosaurs roamed this planet for approximately 175 MILLION years. They went extinct around 60 million years ago. It’s really hard for us to fathom those kinds of years but part of my point is, our time period on this earth is but a blink in the lifetime of this planet and yet we think we are so wise. It’s pretty much decided that an asteroid was most likely the demise of ancient species that were the long-term residents of planet Earth. Something that had been here for millions of years wiped out just like that. Now my other question or point to this is, how did we go from dinosaurs to what we have today. I’m serious.

Darwin projected the theory of evolution. Ok. We all just go along with it, but we never stop to think about it. In a nutshell, the dinosaurs died out and what was left of them turned into birds, and some small mammals that survived were left to take over the world. Think about that. Science says the birds are the closest remanent to dinosaurs. There are I believe 10,000 plus species of birds currently. Where did they come from? Seriously. Small mammals left over roughly 65 million years ago have turned into what we have today on this planet. How do we go from there to this? If you look at the mammals’ time-period they started small and became huge like giant sloths, Gigantopithecus, Sabretooths, so on and so forth and yet still these creatures died out and or evolved and “changed”. How does that happen? How does a species change? Does a giraffe mate with a zebra? Where does a species come from, from nothing? And that leads me to man, to hominoids, to homo sapiens.

About 2 million years ago hominoids appeared. Ummmm how? Where from? Some say we are a branch of the primate tree as we do share large amounts of DNA with them, especially chimpanzees and the great apes. But I can’t for the life of me figure out how that happened. You have a species, and another species comes from that species. That can only happen in a lab, or through cross breeding. It’s the only way, right? We didn’t have labs 2 million years ago so how did we get from there to here. How did numerous species of hominoids exist like Homo Erectus, Java Man, and Neanderthal. I get that through 100’s of thousands of years even millions of years things can evolve, but I’m asking how do we get from there to this not by just saying it’s so, but how it actually happens. Where did humans come from? How did we evolve from small mammals to human beings from nothing?

Species die out and a few are left. So, from a few birds left over, from a few small rodent type mammals left over we “evolved” into all the species we have today, including homo sapiens? Do you ever think about it? How did we really go from there to this? Which came first the chicken or the egg? Now are you getting how huge this thought is? Where did you come from, and what are you going to do with the very short amount of time you have on this planet? Think about it.
