Add a little spice to your dish and ohhh your taste buds will feel it. Add a little sour and once again you will be able to taste it. Well, I can’t get it out of my mouth of how little common-sense we have or don’t have shall I say. Simple stuff really but yet it seems to be simply overlooked. For example: if you don’t tie your shoelaces there is a good possibility that you may trip. Easy right? But so much of common-sense that should be easy to see and act upon simply gets overlooked and or discarded. Why is that? Common-sense here tells me that’s just plain dumb but yet I see it everywhere. People so nonchalantly walk without common-sense. Even I am guilty of it I confess. Don’t text and drive is an easy one, but it happens all the time. Don’t follow people blindly in beliefs but it happens every day. Why does this happen? Why do we not see the light and make choices and decisions rationally and with some resemblance of common-sense?
When a person has the light go on in an aha moment it almost sets them free in a way, to understand the things around them that might distract or muddle a simple and common-sense way of thinking. Common-sense can be small as a gnat and it can be as huge as a chasm. But all in all, it’s still common-sense. How big or small has no bearing on common-sense because it’s either you have it, or you don’t. I see a lot of people with very little or not very well used common-sense. I see some with no common-sense at all. These are the times I just shake my head and wonder, where have we gotten to as a species? Seriously. One man is the richest in the world. Ok, somebody has to be. But why? My common-sense to me says, what the hell is going on? Why does one person need all that money when so many people are without? Why does a business prosper on and get wealthy on the backs of the downtrodden? Why do we continue to pollute this great planet and yet expect it to sustain us? Big common sense there, right? Is that common-sense bigger than being told to drink bleach to kill Corona? Na, common-sense is common sense. It’s not the size that’s big or small, it’s the understanding.
I implore you, all of us, and myself to open our minds to common-sense. To be able to see it when needed and even more important, to take action. Use common-sense to help guide us from the stupidity of being ignorant and naive. To live a better harmonious way of existence. It’s really not that difficult once you understand but yet for some it could be as impossible as breathing under water. Are some just endowed with this ability, and some are not? I don’t really know. But I do know when I see common-sense and when I don’t. Do you? Then why is it so difficult to use and master? Are we just inherently dumb. To a degree I think so. We are so smart with our big brains that we actually become a little dumb. I don’t mind being a little dumb if it helped life around me be a little bit better and simpler. But that’s just my common-sense talking, what do I know.
