It ‘s All Subjective

So much of life is truly subjective. We believe things are truth and fact based on many factors. Those factors can include age, sex, religion, where you were raised and taught geographically in the world or within the United States. We are extremely diverse with opinions and matter of fact thinking within our own minds depending on what we have fed those minds. Remember back when, the main “thinkers” of this planet were convinced that the world was flat. They believed everything revolved around the earth. They believed in Gods on Olympus, Gods of the sky and Gods of the underworld. In more modern times, we believed that we could be safe hiding under our desks if a nuclear bomb went off, and when they were going to test the first Atom bomb, they weren’t even sure what would happen, they thought the whole world could explode. Today is really no different. We believe things to be true and real still based on those same premises of where you live, how you live and what information from your surroundings that you take in. In the multimedia world it just exemplifies whatever one’s belief they chose because we can find anything and everything to bolster our own subjective experiences. Still doesn’t make it true or even false for that matter.

So, there is the dilemma. And this has been a thorn in our species existence for its entirety. Wars, deaths, control, power, understanding and knowledge has all been subjugated by the wealthy and powerful. What may be seemingly true for one is not true for another. Is there an absolute truth? I think to a degree there is. For example, we will all die, that is 100% absolute. We need oxygen to breathe. That’s an absolute truth. Those are pretty easy concepts. But saying a certain religion is absolute over another. That’s subjective and I will add subjective bias based on those conditions I stated earlier. Every single one of us live in a bubble. A bubble created by environment and some created by choice. Just because one was born in Pakistan or India, or the United States doesn’t make their truth absolute, it makes it subjective. Just because one believes in a certain political view doesn’t make it true, but again, it is subjective based on a plethora of information and influences. So, how do we exist in a world where almost absolutely everything we think is subjective? I have a small window into that.

Start with the big picture, a natural truth that is universal and then work backwards. We are all going to die. Truth. So how do you want to live. Subjective. Is life precious and valuable? Most would say, absolutely. Do we need to take care of resources that keep us alive, air, water, trees? Absolutely. In not doing so, we expedite our own short lives. Does religion or politics or a certain plot of land dictate absolute truth? Only in subjective thinking. So, you see, there is absolute truth and there is truth that is distorted to fit our own personal narrative. We have really big brains, that, “we think, therefor we are”, that I believe have actually been a hindrance to our species. We have become so pompous and yet have no true understanding of simply harmonious living. We as a species, control, destroy, conquer, rebuild all due to subjective thinking. And whom ever has the power at the time, in that moment, in that space creates the thinking that most blindly believe. We do this on a massive scale and a miniscule one. We now know the world is not flat but yet we also believe that “I’m right, your wrong” is a viable antiquation of truth. As for now we are all living in our own subjective bubbles created from subjective truths. And that is the truth. Maybe we could pop our bubbles and experience truth outside of what we think we know. Maybe our eyes and our lives might find truth we didn’t know was true. See ya on the journey.
