Negative Nancy or Honest Abe

I do quite a bit of writing and sometimes I think I can come across as a little negative. But I also understand that just because something may appear or sound negative doesn’t mean it’s not true none the less. My point in writing is not to discourage or anger a person but to help quicken the synopses in the brain. To encourage a different way or new way of thinking. We often become lazy or impassive with our thinking and just go about everyday just as everyday goes. There is no spark, there is no new growth, there is no change. We become idle and do nothing and therefore become a useless vessel in the flesh. I’m not advocating that we all need to be rocket scientist’s or Ghandi’s, but we should at least have a heartbeat and not just a flat line of a walking dead. So, I think my writing is a bit negative but it’s also honest. I would compare it to something along the lines of, “hey, that McDonalds is horrible for you, you shouldn’t eat that because it will kill you.” It sounds negative but it has an underlying meaning of love and hope for the person I am sharing the message with. That’s the same concept of sharing an understanding of an aware mind vs. a dormant one. Without the ability to think then how can one really know who they are or aren’t. Is it my job to share this information? Absolutely. Because if wisdom is not shared then nothing can be learned and without learning we just live as a fruitless tree.

“Don’t touch the hot stove!” I scream. Causing the person, I’m directing this to, to jump and being agitated and irritated. It comes across as a negative to some degree but only because our simple ego doesn’t like to make sense of it. When we stop to “think” and process what was said and why it was said then the perspective of understanding can change. And it becomes an honest shared wisdom of love, advice, and true care. We are incredibly simple beings and also astronomically complicated. We have the magnificent ability to learn, to understand, to grow, to change and affect the world around us. It’s too easy to be stuck in the muck and mire of just going through the motions of life. Someone needs to throw a lifeline and bonk people in the head with it to get their attention.

We have a hard time it seems with becoming aware. With being accountable, with treating others with respect, dignity, grace and honest love. We have a difficult time sharing that with others and receiving it from others. We have a difficult time learning from past mistakes. We have a difficult time letting go of our EGO. We have a difficult time separating our emotions from factual rational thoughts and then creating new pathways with this understanding and knowing. So am I being a negative Nancy bringing to the surface things I see and understand. I don’t believe so. I believe I am encouraging, edifying, and freeing another’s soul for their journey. A journey full of adventure, wonder, awe and passion. Don’t look back on your life with regret, look forward to each day with excitement and yearning, for the journey that can present itself in your life is made in every single step you take.
